CLIMATE AND WASTE MANAGEMENT AT KIBARANI.
Climate is the mean and variability of meteorological variables over a time spanning from months to millions of years. The types of climate include,
Tropical
Dry
Continental
Temperate
Polar
Solid waste management remains a challenge in coastal town, with Mombasa County facing the biggest challenge due to a high population.
Kibarani is well known for its tropical savanna climate, warm every month with both wet and dry seasons. The average annual temperatures for kibarani is about 55 degrees. According to the standard a private firm, Mombasa Cement, in partnership with the county government, has carried out a beautification programme right from the former Kibarani dumpsite to roundabouts such as Makupa to give Mombasa a new face.
According to The Star, the bridge will also improve traffic flow on the Mombasa-Nairobi trunk road. It will now take motorists 10 minutes from the Moi International Airport and all western mainland suburbs to the island city centre using the bridge. It also becomes the third road link between the island and the mainland to the north and west, after the Nyali bridge and the Kipevu causeway on the port side.
Sea water now flows freely connecting the Tudor and Port Reitz creeks at Kibarani, and will revive the marine ecosystem.
According to The East African The crowds are also attracted by food and treats for children such as candy floss donated by Mr Patel.
Although the park closes after sunset, it is patrolled during the day by uniformed security guards and during our visit two policemen kept watch.
“We have enough security from the guards and also police officers deployed here. There is no reason to be scared. When it is complete it will attract more visitors than other parks,” said Mr Ronalo.
