YOUTH AMELIORATION IN THE KENYAN ECONOMY.
Young people have the ideas, the creativity and great energy to shape a better world. Young people are full of hope and through innovation and imagination, they are problem solvers and have a great potential to generate a positive social change in the world.
Youth are expected to advance the current technology, education, politics, peace of the country. On the other hand, youths have also to maintain the culture of our culture, all good values in the societies, development projects, etc.
Youth is the backbone of any nation. For many young people, leadership starts with getting involved in their communities through volunteering or community building. This can help them gain new experiences and skills, build self-confidence, develop positive relationships with adults, and identify their passions and interests.
Kenya has a relatively youthful population,if they find the correct formula to harness the energy, creativity and entrepreneurship that young people have to offer, economic take-off is guaranteed. According to Kenya Vision 2030, One of the answers is to be found in the government’s Big Four Agenda. When the government invests directly or facilitates investment in attaining food security, building affordable homes, accelerating manufacturing and ensuring affordable healthcare, young people are in direct line to benefit from these investments.
The mantra of Linda Okero, a communication enthusiast who leads Youth Action Hub Kenya states that, Young people can be catalysts of inclusive development.Youth Action Hub Kenya also focuses on making trade part of the solution to the challenges facing young people.
According to Kenya Associations of Manufacturers, Our vision is to see young people access quality skills, decent work and entrepreneurship opportunities through technical and vocational training. This is because the youth are and will always be strategic players in our growth and development. We must, therefore, empower them to be part and parcel of our goals as we look to ensure the sustainability of industry in the country.
